Here it comes again

A group of men barged into the home of a Christian leader in Nigeria and after it was all said and done the African leader was killed. The group of home invaders was suspected of being Muslim and it was clear that the aggression was due to religious beliefs. Christians and Muslims are already at odds with each other because of their individual beliefs, making this turn of events an opportunity to increase tensions. It has been alleged that Islamists could be behind an increased crime rate that has resulted in Christian churches being destroyed. This new attack is clearly a step in the wrong direction and could only result in adding fuel to the fire.

There is nothing worse that a bunch of people with different beliefs going up against each other because they don't see eye to eye, especially when violence is involved. The only thing that this accomplishes is an opportunity to fester hate and tribulation, both of which this world already has too much of. It is also an opportunity for religious zealots to launch an insurgency against one side or another. When militants try to interject themselves into the faithful beliefs of worshipers, we are left to wonder if the ones involved are paying attention, especially since such an act could only be instigated by Satan. Anyone truly interested in following a religious leader should be certain that he/she is not leading them astray, considering the fact that in this day and age, that happens quite regularly. There is no way that someone can convince me that a loving God would instigate unnecessary aggression, unless it involves an emergency situation, which should not be due to differing beliefs.

Stop killing our children

The case against 72 year old Dr. Kermit Gosnell, as troubling as it is, continues to be controversial. The doctor is being accused of killing a patient and 4 babies. According to accusations, the babies were born alive and the doctor proceeded to finish them off with a medical scissors. There are other charges that have been placed against the doctor, some that include hundreds of abortions which were illegally performed in the third trimester. What brought Dr. Gosnell into the FBI's cross hairs was the fact that he was distributing high quantities of painkillers, instead the baby killing was brought to light, quite by accident.

When I first heard about this story, I have to admit that I was glad that this individual was taken off the streets. Here is a man that called himself a doctor, but instead of Dr. Gosnell trying to save lives, his chosen field of expertise was taking them. I prefer not to go about judging other people, especially since my bible tells me not to, but in this particular case, it is difficult not to. What struck me as interesting was the fact that the only thing that triggered the downfall for the good doctor (if he can be called that) was his extensive writing of prescription medications. They say that the Lord works in mysterious ways, I guess He was tired of Gosnell taking the lives of so many of His children.

The real story behind it

As you probably already know, the history channel recently aired their mini series entitled “The Bible”. This event caused quite a stir among viewers, who took one look at the character playing the part of Satan and decided that he looked like our Commander in Chief.

-But did you hear that they are now being questioned as to whether it was necessary for Satan to appear dark-skinned, in fact, this was probably why the actor looked more like the President than he should have? - Did you also hear that much of this whole scenario seems to be turning into a racial epitaph, rather that the story about good and evil and how dangerous the evil one (Satan) actually is?

-Did you know that although the publicity being received by the History network and the producers of the mini series will increase the audience base, it will inadvertently be for the wrong reasons? -Did you also know that, as interesting as it may seem that we are classing the evil one as dark skinned, it should be understood that it is difficult to describe darkness, or a dark heart by any other color?

- Do you feel that we are traveling down a road that someone else is leading us and if so, is this a road that you want to travel? - Do you also feel that we Christians would do well to shoot down the comparison between the actor and the President (or any racial suggestions) and make the real point that the movie has been trying to portray, avoid the evil one at all cost? Can you say, thank God you know the truth?
